Airbrushing fool!

I have been doing quite a bit of airbrushing when I get a couple hours to just focus on it. Here is what I have done so far. . .yes, I know they are all skulls but I figure I would start with something I REALLY like and eventually when I get more control of the airbrush and technique I'll broaden my "art subject" :) I would really love to take a class or a weekend workshop or something since I think it would help me a lot! Anyways here are a few I have done this last week.

  ABOVE: I did this one last night it took me a little over an hour.

These two are done using the same Skull Template. I'm figuring out how to control the airbrush and I slowly see improvement. However these two are only my 4th & 5th attempts with the airbrush. I think I need to watch more YouTube tutorials on airbrushing. . I LOVE  youtube!!

Airbrushing

So I got one of my new year goals up and running. . ."learn how to airbrush". .
I got the airbrush(thanks to my awesome boss), an air compressor, paints, and a mask with a filter(to keep my lungs protected). I started with dots and lines. I also watch a TON of youtube tutorials and "how to" videos. Watching how they start a picture and the process of turning it into something amazing. The other day I got adventurous and decided to abandon dots and lines for a bit and try an ACTUAL piece of artwork. So take in consideration this is only my 3rd day of working with my airbrush and is honestly my first attempt at something other than shading a sphere.

I think I'm going to really like airbrushing. . .and with more practice I hopefully improve and soon I'll be creating some wicked cool designs :) I'm thankful for opportunities to learn new things and build up new talents.

New Year. . New Changes!

So far 2012 has brought us a few changes. Bryan started workig at a different body shop as of Jan 1st. It is a amaller shop with more opportunity for him to learn and expand his knowledge as a Service Manager as well as a more well rounded mechanic. He enjoyed working at Fort Thunder Harley, however, he found a better opportunity and he took it. Change can be hard but it gives us the chance to grow and learn. We are still in Oklahoma, im fact his new job is just 5 minutes from our apartment. I am excited for him & for myself since it means I'll see him A LOT more :)

As for me, I have set some New Year "goals" and I am on my way to getting a few of them started right off. I'm hoping to get an airbrush soon so I can start learning and experimenting with paints & technique. I'm sure that goal will be an ongoing learning opportunity for me. We need to rent a place with a garage so I have a place to paint. Hopefully we can rent a house that has a garage within a few months! I would LOVE to get farther away from the college kids. lol

I am hoping that this new year will bring us good things. So far I am still culturing Cepacia & Psudomonus but I am on some inhaled antibiotics and I'm feeling great, so the doctors and mysef are not too concerned.
