Transplant Games: Team Arizona

I have been accepted by the Team Phoenix for the 2010 Transplant Games! Now I REALLY, REALLY need to work on raising money to help get me to Madison, Wisconsin for the games July 30th-Aug 4th 2010! They say to plan on around $1,300-$1,500 per athlete. I need to pay my own entry fee:

Here is how that works:
  • Online registration is slated to open in mid–January (those of you who have “been there - done that” know not to hold your breath)
  • The registration deadline is to be 5/21/2010
  • Early bird registration will be from opening until 2/28/2010. Athletes - $125.00. Non – athletes – $55.00
  • Standard Registration 3/1 – 4/21/2010. Athletes $150.00. NA - $60.00
  • Late registration 4/21 – 5/21/2010. Athletes $200.00. NA $65.00
So I have decided one way I can raise money for myself is to sell my decal!! So if You DO NOT HAVE one or want one for each car and your friends car, your boss' car, your neighbors car, your enemy's car, everyone in your families car. . . you get the idea! I need to sell 150 of them at $10 each. So go to my donate now Button and help me out. Hey I know that the team is a 501c. . so if you want to make a larger donation to our team then let me know and I can get you info on how to do that. But to help ME with my portion of the expenses then buy a decal, show your support, and help me out! I promise I will go, I will do my best, and I will bring home a medal :)

*Remember 150 of them! I can make them in a lot of different colors! Lighter and brighter colors usually work best on most car windows especially if they are tinted windows.

My Testimony

It's hard to put into words how I feel toward my Heavenly Father and the Savior. I have so many reasons to be thankful for what I have gone through & endured. Because of my trials in life I have gained a strong testimony of Faith. I have always had Faith in the Lord and in Prayer. As I faced the decision to get a double lung transplant I had to rely on faith to make the choice.....By listening to the spirit, I was guided to Pittsburgh where my life was saved. I believe prayers are answered. I have always tried to follow the philosophy of this: If I do what the Lord expects of me, he will give me what I want & need. That has always worked for me. I Believe in MIRACLES..........My life on this earth is a miracle- I prayed on my knees for years to be healed from my lung disease. I knew that through a priesthood blessing (if it was God's will) I could be healed. So many times I thought he would heal me instantly...my faith was tested as I continued to get sick and no cure was in my future. I turned to prayer....I talked to my Heavenly Father, I cried to him and he heard me and he healed me by guiding me to Pittsburgh and guiding the surgeons hands. I learned humility, and thankfulness. I realized that we need others to lean on and we are supposed to strengthen each others testimonies. I learned that the hardest things we'll do are usually the greatest blessings in our life. I was able to experience a lot of things during surgery and I know I had comforting angels in my ICU room. THe Lord knows each of us by name and he will never leave our side. We need to remember to stay close to him and have Faith that he is watching over us. I know this for a fact! I know that following the gospel will bring us true happiness- the world will tell us otherwise, but I know I am truely happy & living the gospel has brought me that. Amen
