My Favorite Sister :)

My little sister Nikkii and her family are going to be here this weekend!! I am really, really excited to see them. Oh, and don't worry about the "favoritism" issue, Nikkii is my ONLY sister, but she is still my favorite :) I have a busy week and weekend ahead of me. I am in the process of getting our spare room slash storage space cleaned out so we can accommodate guests. That has been 2 days of work and I still have several more days to get it ready. I also have to perform on Saturday night which is good (and bad) because she will get to see me perform, bad cuz my last show gets out late :( Maybe I can work something out? I guess this all boils down to YAY! I get to spend a week with my best girlfriend and I will also have lots of work to get done before she gets here :) Next week: Enjoying the beautiful weather and the pool together!

I am soooooo in need of seeing her. I hope we can get in lots of late night chic flicks, talking, laughing, and just enjoying being together!Oh and I get to see my niece Myriam~ Life can't get much better than that! Nikkii has always been one of my biggest supporters. She was my 2nd in charge when it came to "team jamiebug" great strides fundraiser team. She was my partner in our endeavor for bringing the arts conservatory alive! Actually she was who kept the school going, kept it alive and made it a success for 4 years. She is my biggest fan and my best girlfriend! I will take some pics and post them next week!

I have to laugh. . . .as I got older and a little wiser, I realized my mom was right all those years. She used to tell Nikkii and I that we better be nice to each other cause some day we'll be best friends. How did she know? I describe her and I's relationship growing up as best friends and worse enemies all in the same day, usually within minutes of each other. We have great memories of fun times singing into tape recorders, which turned into fighting into the tape recorder, then ended with us laughing uncontrollably into the tape recorder. We shared a room throughout our childhood, and yes. . we had the duct tape dividing "my" side of the bedroom and "her" side. I don't think that lasted long either :) As I am more smarter now (haha) I am grateful Nikkii and I were successful at maintaining a wonderful friendship, a best friendship!

My brother and I had a relationship kinda like that. Well we used to fight horribly all the time and as we got older, it got worse. We had the awesome times too and that is what I remember now the most, but until I was about 22, we fought tooth and nail. Now I can't imagine my life without him and I miss him so much not being able to just stop by his house. But I always make his house one of the first ones I get to when I go home :)

Enjoy the week with your BFF!!!!!

My Testimony

It's hard to put into words how I feel toward my Heavenly Father and the Savior. I have so many reasons to be thankful for what I have gone through & endured. Because of my trials in life I have gained a strong testimony of Faith. I have always had Faith in the Lord and in Prayer. As I faced the decision to get a double lung transplant I had to rely on faith to make the choice.....By listening to the spirit, I was guided to Pittsburgh where my life was saved. I believe prayers are answered. I have always tried to follow the philosophy of this: If I do what the Lord expects of me, he will give me what I want & need. That has always worked for me. I Believe in MIRACLES..........My life on this earth is a miracle- I prayed on my knees for years to be healed from my lung disease. I knew that through a priesthood blessing (if it was God's will) I could be healed. So many times I thought he would heal me instantly...my faith was tested as I continued to get sick and no cure was in my future. I turned to prayer....I talked to my Heavenly Father, I cried to him and he heard me and he healed me by guiding me to Pittsburgh and guiding the surgeons hands. I learned humility, and thankfulness. I realized that we need others to lean on and we are supposed to strengthen each others testimonies. I learned that the hardest things we'll do are usually the greatest blessings in our life. I was able to experience a lot of things during surgery and I know I had comforting angels in my ICU room. THe Lord knows each of us by name and he will never leave our side. We need to remember to stay close to him and have Faith that he is watching over us. I know this for a fact! I know that following the gospel will bring us true happiness- the world will tell us otherwise, but I know I am truely happy & living the gospel has brought me that. Amen
