Winter Wonderland & Make Overs

The last 2 days Eastern Idaho has been on a severe weather warning. Blizzard warnings and Idaho wasn't joking around! So I have literally been trapped inside, but I am not complaining too much cuz it's warm in here :) Tomorrow I might go out and snap a few photo's to prove I am not a complete wimp~ But it was actually a very serious storm and all the roads in Bingham County were closed and ALL the schools were canceled last night! Check this out!!
My Parents deck! How many inches do you guys think is there??

So since I was locked up inside and needed something to do. . .I gave my mom's kitchen a make over sorta for her birthday gift. Tomorrow I will be doing my parent's business filing. I didn't take "before" pictures. . .I wish I had, but imagine wall to wall flower print bathroom with copper colored hardware and red/magenta towels :) Well, this is the END product.
We peeled wallpaper then I picked the color from several paints my mother had on hand.
Cost $0 All the hardware was sprayed from a copper color to this dark brown/black Cost $0
Framed "Family" art. . . something I made my mother and we relocated it from another part of the house Cost $0
I think it turned out pretty good :)
The curtain ends are left over from the shower curtain and the valance is made of place mats :)
Cost $0
I made this extra long orange shower curtain out of a table cloth my mother had purchased a while ago, not knowing when she would use it. I hand made 12 coordinating tabs for the top and hemmed the edges.  Cost $0

I am not excited about how treacherous the weather is here, but as you can see I still know how to have some fun and get things done :) I have been watching too much 'Design on a Dime' shows, but it paid off.

Sorry you are snowbound, but you did an awesome job on your Mom's bathroom. I love those decorating shows too. You should be an interior decorator! You definately have an eye for it. Can you come to my house and decorate,LOL!

My Testimony

It's hard to put into words how I feel toward my Heavenly Father and the Savior. I have so many reasons to be thankful for what I have gone through & endured. Because of my trials in life I have gained a strong testimony of Faith. I have always had Faith in the Lord and in Prayer. As I faced the decision to get a double lung transplant I had to rely on faith to make the choice.....By listening to the spirit, I was guided to Pittsburgh where my life was saved. I believe prayers are answered. I have always tried to follow the philosophy of this: If I do what the Lord expects of me, he will give me what I want & need. That has always worked for me. I Believe in MIRACLES..........My life on this earth is a miracle- I prayed on my knees for years to be healed from my lung disease. I knew that through a priesthood blessing (if it was God's will) I could be healed. So many times I thought he would heal me instantly...my faith was tested as I continued to get sick and no cure was in my future. I turned to prayer....I talked to my Heavenly Father, I cried to him and he heard me and he healed me by guiding me to Pittsburgh and guiding the surgeons hands. I learned humility, and thankfulness. I realized that we need others to lean on and we are supposed to strengthen each others testimonies. I learned that the hardest things we'll do are usually the greatest blessings in our life. I was able to experience a lot of things during surgery and I know I had comforting angels in my ICU room. THe Lord knows each of us by name and he will never leave our side. We need to remember to stay close to him and have Faith that he is watching over us. I know this for a fact! I know that following the gospel will bring us true happiness- the world will tell us otherwise, but I know I am truely happy & living the gospel has brought me that. Amen
