Vote for my Transplant Story!

I finally got my laptop working (sorta) I am just in super need of a new one. I figured out it was my wireless card which is most likely integrated into my motherboard or hard drive or whatever. But If I plug my Ethernet cable into my laptop instead of wireless it seems to be working just fine. My life has been crazy, stressful and awesome all at once.

Yesterday I woke up and thought "I would like to start working again, part time" For a few reasons. I am just plain BORED sitting at home all day alone. Also I want to pay off some bills and put $$ in a savings account for when we have Medical stuff/travel. BUT a big reason is. . . . . . . .I went and looked at Vespa Scooters the other day and they had a black and pink one!

It is a 2009 or 2010 hold over (brand new). It's a 125cc and frankly is freaking awesome :) It is about $1000 cheaper than the new 2011 or 2012. . .so if I ever want to get one I knew I needed to get some extra spending money. ANyways, I woke up yesterday and had that thought "get a job", I looked in our local Norman newspaper and saw a part time receptionist job. About 20 hours a week. I called and emailed my resume. They said they were interviewing that day and set me up to come in at 2pm. I showed up and interviewed. It was a really good experience. I left feeling pretty good. . .however, within a 1/2 hour after I returned home I felt even BETTER! I was offered the position! WHOOHOO!!! SO that's the most recent development in my life! I start Oct. 1st.

Now LAST but not least. . .my previous post mentioned I entered a Readers Digest Life Story Contest. I had a family friend suggest I enter. There is a prize winning and also my transplant story will get published in the Readers Digest. So please vote and have your family & friends vote. You can vote once for my story EVERY DAY! I have close to 200 votes right now and my story is now an 'Editors Pick'. CLICK HERE to vote on Facebook. Thanks so much, I really appreciate it!!

Just voted for you Jamie! Tiffany always wanted one of those vespas as well! Hope your new job goes well. Thought you might be interested that we started a bereavement discussion group at the Phoenix CF clinic. You were a great encouragement to me the day that I met you and Brian last year to continue to use my CF experiences to help others. Keep leaning forward in life!

My Testimony

It's hard to put into words how I feel toward my Heavenly Father and the Savior. I have so many reasons to be thankful for what I have gone through & endured. Because of my trials in life I have gained a strong testimony of Faith. I have always had Faith in the Lord and in Prayer. As I faced the decision to get a double lung transplant I had to rely on faith to make the choice.....By listening to the spirit, I was guided to Pittsburgh where my life was saved. I believe prayers are answered. I have always tried to follow the philosophy of this: If I do what the Lord expects of me, he will give me what I want & need. That has always worked for me. I Believe in MIRACLES..........My life on this earth is a miracle- I prayed on my knees for years to be healed from my lung disease. I knew that through a priesthood blessing (if it was God's will) I could be healed. So many times I thought he would heal me instantly...my faith was tested as I continued to get sick and no cure was in my future. I turned to prayer....I talked to my Heavenly Father, I cried to him and he heard me and he healed me by guiding me to Pittsburgh and guiding the surgeons hands. I learned humility, and thankfulness. I realized that we need others to lean on and we are supposed to strengthen each others testimonies. I learned that the hardest things we'll do are usually the greatest blessings in our life. I was able to experience a lot of things during surgery and I know I had comforting angels in my ICU room. THe Lord knows each of us by name and he will never leave our side. We need to remember to stay close to him and have Faith that he is watching over us. I know this for a fact! I know that following the gospel will bring us true happiness- the world will tell us otherwise, but I know I am truely happy & living the gospel has brought me that. Amen
