OK- I have been thinking alot about what I want to do with all this time I have on my hands lately! I have been very involved in raising funds for Great Strides for a cure for Cystic Fibrosis...but I want to do more! I have thought of alot of ideas and I want to create "Jamiebug Hope for Lungs" I want to start by creating duffle bags/luggage filled with specific items that will be given to CF patients recovering from a transplant... The Bag will include a handmade quilt with the jamiebug hope for lungs logo (which I am open to designs), an ipod that has the Josh Groban songs that got me through my transplant journey, an itunes card-so they can add thier own songs, a new camera so they can capture every moment of thier new life, My story or a book including several other survivors stories, a scrapbook or a journal, the scriptures and I would like to include a pre-paid credit card of at least $1,000.00 for them to spend on themselves when they get out of the hospitala along with a card signed by everyone involved! We can definately add to the bag as we come up with more ideas! Maybe even get the logo put on the bag! I will need a committee in order to create a non profit organization- so if you're interested in being a part of this, let me know! I have some great ideas for fundraising...including motorcycle rallies & horse trail rides. I know we can get creative! I am really excited about this! I am going to get started on designing a logo, and getting info on getting a non profit licence thingy... we can do more than just the bags..I want to do Segways for CF by donating a Segway to a deserving CF patient who would benifit greatly from getting mobile again....like it did for me!
I feel like I can make a difference and help brighten the lives of Cystic Fibrosis patients facing the fear of transplant. I know first hand that little things like this make a big impact on recovery! If you are a part of this, you will be doing something great!! I think there are great charities raising money to find a cure...but I want to go back to the philosophy of making an impact on the patients lives-give them something to make living each day a little easier!
