Thanksgiving just around the corner. . .

I really do love Thanksgiving. It is a time where many take the time to reflect back on what life has brought them and the many things, large or small, that they are thankful for. I can usually think of about a thousand things every day I am thankful for. So I will share just a few of them.

I am thankful for my mother. She deserves all of the credit for me even surviving my infancy, childhood, my teens and into my young adulthood. She cared for my health and taught ME to care for my health. She always supported me in whatever endeavor I chose to do. She encouraged and supports my love for my horses, as well as my acting, my cheerleading, my entire life! I am told I am a lot like my mother and I take it as a compliment.

I am thankful for my husband. . .I won't go into details because I did an entire post dedicated to him just last week. :)

I am thankful for my donor along with the doctors, surgeons, transplant coordinators, and all the nurses that helped save my life. I can't leave out all my family, friends and community that helped raise the money we needed to get to Pittsburgh and get through my transplant.

I am thankful for technology. I am thankful I am able to have this blog and It can reach anyone who seeks it.

I am thankful for being alive to feel thankful. I guess I am thankful for every minute of everyday. . . and everything that happens every second of my life.

I am thankful for the Gospel in my life. Also the strength and talents that God gave me. I am thankful I have the opportunity to share them with others.

What are you thankful for? Respond with at least one thing you are thankful for if you want :)

Well geez Jamie! Seems like so far everyone is thankful for you! And well, gotta admit I am thankful for you as well! I am glad that we were able to connect once again. You truly did fill a void in my heart that has been there for quite some time. Connecting with you once again made me feel more complete. You help me realize what is important in life. You motivate and inspire me more than you will ever know. I am a much happier person having you in my life again! I love you! Thank you for everything you do!

I am thankful for my awesome husband who gives me love & understanding & most of all, helped to pull me out of the deep depression I had gotten into when my mother passed away so suddenly. I thank God above everyday for sending my DH to me when He did!

My Testimony

It's hard to put into words how I feel toward my Heavenly Father and the Savior. I have so many reasons to be thankful for what I have gone through & endured. Because of my trials in life I have gained a strong testimony of Faith. I have always had Faith in the Lord and in Prayer. As I faced the decision to get a double lung transplant I had to rely on faith to make the choice.....By listening to the spirit, I was guided to Pittsburgh where my life was saved. I believe prayers are answered. I have always tried to follow the philosophy of this: If I do what the Lord expects of me, he will give me what I want & need. That has always worked for me. I Believe in MIRACLES..........My life on this earth is a miracle- I prayed on my knees for years to be healed from my lung disease. I knew that through a priesthood blessing (if it was God's will) I could be healed. So many times I thought he would heal me instantly...my faith was tested as I continued to get sick and no cure was in my future. I turned to prayer....I talked to my Heavenly Father, I cried to him and he heard me and he healed me by guiding me to Pittsburgh and guiding the surgeons hands. I learned humility, and thankfulness. I realized that we need others to lean on and we are supposed to strengthen each others testimonies. I learned that the hardest things we'll do are usually the greatest blessings in our life. I was able to experience a lot of things during surgery and I know I had comforting angels in my ICU room. THe Lord knows each of us by name and he will never leave our side. We need to remember to stay close to him and have Faith that he is watching over us. I know this for a fact! I know that following the gospel will bring us true happiness- the world will tell us otherwise, but I know I am truely happy & living the gospel has brought me that. Amen
