Keeping Busy!

I am starting to get my jump start energy back! Ya! I find myself being more self motivated and less tired. That is soooo refreshing. Yesterday I spent all day cleaning my apartment. I LOVE making "TO DO" lists with little boxes I can check off when I complete a task. Some people HATE to do lists, but I find them rewarding and motivating. I had a pretty ambitious list yesterday and didn't complete everything so today I get to finish it.

I am not only feeling better, but I am staying very busy and enjoying it! I have been going to Jester'Z about 3 days a week and I perform 3 Saturdays out of the month. I have rehearsal/practice on Tuesdays, advance class on Thursdays and performances on Saturdays! I have been working on some "brain" workout games online to help improve my short term memory problem . . . anyone else who is Post Transplant find that their short term memory isn't what it used to be? I figure that with my O2 levels low and my CO2 VERY HIGH, that I killed brain cells (it's a good excuse either way) I struggle a little with remembering things and recalling information. I am hoping that with my energy back, that my brain will be able to 'think fast' again and I can regain some speed too. Two important things when doing improv~

Happy Groundhog Day! I was just thinking. . . 2 years ago I was in Pittsburgh on groundhog day. I had just been released from the hospital & we decided to drive to Punxsutawney for groundhog day celebrations. I only weighed around 70 lbs and I FROZE my skinny little butt off!! It was a cool experience. . . however, I pretty much only recall how cold I was :)

So glad you are feeling better. Sounds like you have a busy schedule with Jesterz. FUN!

70 pounds after your transplant? Good golly! I bet you were cold ALL the time. And winter in Pittsburgh...ugh!

So glad you're regaining your energy.

I LOVE making lists, too. I don't always finish them but I feel productive just writing them!

Jamie,
I'm a secret "lurker" of your blog. I'm a friend of Cammi Brady's and found you through her blog and journey. Your story is amazing and I feel a little guilty for not telling you that before now. Inspirational, to sum it up in one word.
I have RA and can tell you that when I am on Prednisone my short term memory is SHOT. The higher the dose the worse it gets!! I know Cammi and I have talked about her having to take it. If you are, that could be part of the problem. (I like that better than DEAD BRAIN CELLS:)
Just a thought. You are part of my prayers. Hope you continue to feel energized!!

My Testimony

It's hard to put into words how I feel toward my Heavenly Father and the Savior. I have so many reasons to be thankful for what I have gone through & endured. Because of my trials in life I have gained a strong testimony of Faith. I have always had Faith in the Lord and in Prayer. As I faced the decision to get a double lung transplant I had to rely on faith to make the choice.....By listening to the spirit, I was guided to Pittsburgh where my life was saved. I believe prayers are answered. I have always tried to follow the philosophy of this: If I do what the Lord expects of me, he will give me what I want & need. That has always worked for me. I Believe in MIRACLES..........My life on this earth is a miracle- I prayed on my knees for years to be healed from my lung disease. I knew that through a priesthood blessing (if it was God's will) I could be healed. So many times I thought he would heal me instantly...my faith was tested as I continued to get sick and no cure was in my future. I turned to prayer....I talked to my Heavenly Father, I cried to him and he heard me and he healed me by guiding me to Pittsburgh and guiding the surgeons hands. I learned humility, and thankfulness. I realized that we need others to lean on and we are supposed to strengthen each others testimonies. I learned that the hardest things we'll do are usually the greatest blessings in our life. I was able to experience a lot of things during surgery and I know I had comforting angels in my ICU room. THe Lord knows each of us by name and he will never leave our side. We need to remember to stay close to him and have Faith that he is watching over us. I know this for a fact! I know that following the gospel will bring us true happiness- the world will tell us otherwise, but I know I am truely happy & living the gospel has brought me that. Amen
