Sunday Sunshine: I Believe In Christ

I typed this "SUNDAY SUNSHINE" on Sunday night. . .but when I finished it, midnight had come and gone. . .so you're getting it a few seconds into Monday :)

'I believe in Christ' is a powerful and moving statement for me. It is so simple yet it literally brings tears to my eyes. This statement is even more powerful and speaks to my soul and heart when it is sang. This a hymn that we sing in Church and I cannot make it through the entire song without becoming too emotional to finish. I am not ashamed that I have Faith. I care more about what God and Jesus Christ think about me then any man on this earth. I know I am a child of God and that through my Faith I was given a miracle. I will never be ashamed to share my love and testimony with others. I would have nothing if God didn't love me so much and bless me with all the joy and happiness in my life.

"I BELIEVE IN CHRIST"
Sacrament Hymn Lyrics

I believe in Christ; he is my King!
With all my heart to him I’ll sing; I’ll raise my voice in praise and joy, In grand Amens my tongue employ.

I believe in Christ; he is God’s Son!
On earth to dwell his soul did come. He healed the sick; the dead he raised. Good works were his, his name be praised.

I believe in Christ; oh blessed name!
As Mary’s Son he came to reign. ‘Mid mortal men, his earthly kin, To save them from the woes of sin.

I believe in Christ; who marked the path!
Who did gain all the Father hath. Who said to men, Come, Follow Me, That ye, my friends, with God may be.”

I believe in Christ – my Lord, my God!
My feet he plants on gospel sod. I’ll worship him with all my might; He is the source of truth and light.

I believe in Christ; he ransoms me!
From Satan’s grasp he sets me free. And I shall live with joy and love In his eternal courts above.

I believe in Christ; he stands supreme!
From him I’ll gain my fondest dream. And while I strive through grief and pain, His voice is heard;
“Ye shall obtain.”

I believe in Christ; so come what may!
With him I’ll stand in that great day, When on this earth he comes again To rule amoung the sons of men.

My Testimony

It's hard to put into words how I feel toward my Heavenly Father and the Savior. I have so many reasons to be thankful for what I have gone through & endured. Because of my trials in life I have gained a strong testimony of Faith. I have always had Faith in the Lord and in Prayer. As I faced the decision to get a double lung transplant I had to rely on faith to make the choice.....By listening to the spirit, I was guided to Pittsburgh where my life was saved. I believe prayers are answered. I have always tried to follow the philosophy of this: If I do what the Lord expects of me, he will give me what I want & need. That has always worked for me. I Believe in MIRACLES..........My life on this earth is a miracle- I prayed on my knees for years to be healed from my lung disease. I knew that through a priesthood blessing (if it was God's will) I could be healed. So many times I thought he would heal me instantly...my faith was tested as I continued to get sick and no cure was in my future. I turned to prayer....I talked to my Heavenly Father, I cried to him and he heard me and he healed me by guiding me to Pittsburgh and guiding the surgeons hands. I learned humility, and thankfulness. I realized that we need others to lean on and we are supposed to strengthen each others testimonies. I learned that the hardest things we'll do are usually the greatest blessings in our life. I was able to experience a lot of things during surgery and I know I had comforting angels in my ICU room. THe Lord knows each of us by name and he will never leave our side. We need to remember to stay close to him and have Faith that he is watching over us. I know this for a fact! I know that following the gospel will bring us true happiness- the world will tell us otherwise, but I know I am truely happy & living the gospel has brought me that. Amen
